I recently celebrated a birthday at a restaurant in Kobe that serves the exquisite A5-ranked Kobe beef from Kissho-kichi, and we were truly blessed by the experience. The restaurant's decor made an impressive first impression, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with polite service. Our menu was expertly introduced by a Japanese waitress who spoke fluent English with a charming British accent.
The steak was prepared teppanyaki-style right before our eyes, with the chef serving it directly onto our plates. Words cannot adequately express how incredible the Kobe beef was. After more than fifty years of life, I can confidently say this was the best steak I’ve ever had. The quality was outstanding—tender, flavorful, and juicy. Even someone with limited teeth would have no trouble enjoying it. We chose a cut with a bit of marbling, which added a delightful richness and softness to the flavor.
Chef Mr. Takada is undoubtedly one of the finest teppanyaki chefs I have encountered. His skill in cooking and presentation was truly an art form. Unlike some chefs who rely on flamboyant displays and theatrics, Mr. Takada approached his craft with professionalism and grace. His respect for the ingredients and the guests was evident in every aspect of his cooking.
I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and Chef Takada to anyone visiting Kobe. I look forward to returning on my next trip!
