It was my first time trying kobe beef and it didn't disappoint. 山本 (Yamato-San) cooked the beef to a perfect med rare and gave suggestions for how to enjoy the steak with the different sauces and sides. First of course try the steak plain. Second wasabi and sou sauce, third rock salt and garlic and last was garlic and Wassabi. Every combination hit. The beef miso was a very nice addition to the flavor profile. I also tried the garlic fried rice with Kobe beef. Also very delicious. Had a couple of japanese craft beers as well. The Daidai IPA from Kitachino Nest was excellent and the Afterdark stout from Spring Valley made a great desert. The service was great and the staff was very attentive. Not a bad first experience with Kobe beef. Especially considering it is the bottom floor of a mega mall!
