This was an outstanding introduction to authentic Kobe beef, executed with precision and respect for the ingredient.
I had the 120g Tender Kobe Beef, cooked medium-rare, alongside a raw Kobe beef sushi tasting plate and a beautifully balanced vegetable soup with raw egg and thinly sliced Kobe beef. From the very first bite, the quality was unmistakable — exceptionally tender, deeply flavoured, and rich without ever feeling heavy.
What elevated the experience beyond the food was the people. Chef Fumiya’s presence and calm confidence, combined with Ai’s clear and thoughtful explanation of the beef, its preparation, and origin, added genuine depth to the meal. The English support was excellent without feeling scripted, making the experience accessible while still feeling authentically Japanese.
The pacing was perfect, the presentation elegant but not flashy, and the atmosphere warm and focused. It felt intentional — nothing rushed, nothing unnecessary. Considering the quality of the Kobe beef and the overall experience, the value was excellent.
I would confidently recommend Wanomiya to first-time Kobe beef diners, serious food lovers, special occasions, and anyone who values authentic quality over hype. This is Kobe beef done properly.
