My two friends, husband and I wanted to try Kobe beef and saw this restaurant highly recommended on Google. We had eaten a lot of wagyu beef at other restaurants in Tokyo and Osaka and wanted to see if there was a difference between Kobe and wagyu.
Our chef stopped by our table multiple times, to take our order and check on us. The food was beautifully displayed and they taught us how to to eat the food in order to savor the taste.
What fell short was the food wait. To be fair they had a full house so this might not be the norm. It took around an hour and a half for our food to arrive. We didn't even order that much food neither, just some samplers as we wanted to make a takoyaki run around the area afterwards, but by the time we left a lot of the stands we wanted to go to had closed. In comparison to the other restaurants, the beef in Wanomiya was good, but in my opinion the wagyu beef in other restaurants were the same or better based on the cut. This place seemed more like a tourist spot where you can take some nice pictures with their premium meat and their accolades.
