EXTREMELY overpriced!!! tourists, be careful!
I came here because it was the end of lunch hours, most restaurants were closing, and this place had a very high Google rating.
I was in a rush, quickly checked the menu,
and made a mistake converting yen to dollars Only after paying did I realize how badly I had miscalculated.
I ordered three 110g steaks (330g total) and two pieces of sushi and was charged ¥62,150 (~$400) a shocking amount for the quantity and quality.
After checking prices at the best and most respected Kobe beef restaurants in the city, including Michelin Guide restaurants, I realized how incredibly overpriced this place is.
Michelin restaurants cost LESS than this place
Examples of real market prices:
• Misono Kobe Main Store (historic Kobe beef):
150g sirloin ≈ ¥21,000
• Michelin Guide (Jade) Kobe beef restaurants:
Full courses with multiple cuts, sides, and dessert cost:
¥25,000–¥35,000
Even luxury courses rarely exceed ¥45,000–¥50,000.
Yet here I paid ¥62,150 for less food and lower quality.
This restaurant is more expensive than Michelin-level restaurants while offering none of the quality or atmosphere.
About the gold cow statue and certificates
The gold cow and the framed certificates do not mean the restaurant is premium.
They simply indicate the owner once purchased beef at an auction.
These are common decorations, not proof of elite A5 meat.
Beef quality was disappointing
For such a high price:
• marbling was average
• flavor was not deep
• tenderness felt below true A5 level
It did not feel like premium Kobe beef in any way.
The restaurant is not luxurious
The interior, atmosphere, and service do not match the price at all.
It feels like a simple neighborhood shop that somehow charges luxury prices.
Conclusion
Kobe has many honest, reputable restaurants — including Michelin-listed ones
that offer far better food at much better prices.
This place, unfortunately, is not worth the money.
