Got too eager to try this place based on all the star reviews. Made a special trip out to Kobe just to eat here, but left extremely disappointed. Bottom line, do not order anything that has the 'red meat' selection. We couldn't make up our minds as to what to order so it was suggested that we consider the combo that included two selection of the premium cuts and one selection of the 'red meat' for 5people (we ordered this for our family of 6--2 adults and 4 children, one being 8 and does not eat much.) We also paid $900 yen each for 6 of their set A which included a small salad, rice and miso soup). We each also had drinks (2 were alcoholic). The amount of the two premium cuts COMBINED was less than the one selection of red meat. This was bad because the "red meat" selection was so tough and chewy (even when cooked medium rare) that we couldn't eat most of it--but we had to just swallow it whole since it was so damn expensive. The excuse was "different cuts, different texture" but darn it, this was KOBE meat! No part of it should be worst than a $8 piece of SELECT meat in the US. The small set of salad, rice and miso soup, and tiny amounts of vegetables didn't fill up the emptiness in our stomach. Spent $650 (usd) total for this meal for half of an edible meat selection and to still be hungry after the wallet was emptied. We were so disappointed at the end of it all that despite still hungry, we couldn't get ourselves to order more and face potential disappointment again. And if you are expecting a 'show' as it's described for this teppanyaki place, you will be disappointed as well. There was no show...just 2 cooks grilling meat and vegetables in front of you without much interaction. Find somewhere else if possible. It's sad that such a highly anticipated meal fell so short.
