We were looking for a taste of Kobe's famous meat, and a teppanyaky preparation seemed most appropriate. After a warm welcome, we were asked to choose the meat, followed by various options.
We took two qualities of meat, a premium and an "entry-level", to see the difference.
And let me tell you, we could taste the difference. While the premium is really excellent, the other is frankly disappointing, and some pieces, no doubt cut a little large, are frankly difficult and unpleasant to chew. Instead of a standardized marketing stunt, I'd find it more interesting to have a more elaborate menu and cuisine adapted to the different cuts of beef on offer. I wouldn't recommend it.
