Went for one final Kobe beef experience to top off our trip to Japan. Dinner cost just under 80,000 yen for two. The service was okay and the meat was very good. But at that price I’d expect much more in terms of overall service and ambience. We ordered the premium set which served 3 cuts of 120g each. It was served with a few vegetables.
The restaurant was more interested in their own advertising and getting reviews/publicity than pleasing the customers. I guess that’s how the reviews of this restaurant end up at 4.8 - absolutely overrated.
They were mopping the floors and cleaning up the restaurant next to us at 9pm when we had just begun eating ( They told us last order is at 9.45pm). If I’m paying usd 500 for a meal, I don’t want someone mopping the floors next to me. We had to ask for extra mushrooms which they obliged with- but I would expect they atleast check if everything is alright and offer some extra vegetables/rice if so much is being spent on the meat. After all it barely costs them anything, but would improve the experience a lot . Very disappointed with overall experience. Will not go again
