Came during their opening hours on a weekday, no queue, first patron to be served. Waitress was very polite, spoke little English, but took the time and effort to introduce the menu to us using gestures. Kudos!
I had the shio ramen, while opting to swap my ramen topping to sukiyaki kobe beef. The toppings were served on the side, with beef, spring onions, and half boiled egg. The ramen came plain and pure with a pinch of chilli on top. Broth was creamy and flavourful, then after mixing the chilli, the color of the broth turned slightly pinkish with a subtle kick of spice. I had a sip of my parents shoyu ramen, I'd say that I much prefer the shio ramen because the shoyu did not strike me as remarkable.
The beef was definitely different from the ordinary sukiyaki beef, it is more pungent or rather, the beefiness was stronger than other beef. I mean this as a compliment. The sushi was alright. Customers are mainly local, they shuffled in after opening hours. Crowd was moderate when we left.
Overall, a decent place to try the celebrated kobe ramen. It is also noteworthy that they serve rice as well. Since I only ordered the entry level dish, which is about 1600 yen, I will only judge this based on the value I paid for; this place gets an "okay" to sample entry level beef. Maybe I will come back again and try their higher priced items. Staff is polite, plus point!
