I've been to this restaurant three times, including this time. The first time I went, I was impressed by the strong Kobe beef broth and its delicious flavor. I vaguely remember going back the second time and feeling that the taste was different.
A few years later, my memory faded, and I was very hungry, so I looked up reviews and went back for the third time. Human memories are so forgettable... This time, I'll write a review so I won't forget.
The moment I entered the restaurant, I noticed the crowd of foreign tourists, and it made me realize that Kobe beef was a tourist attraction, so I sat at the counter at the very back near the kitchen.
The waiter immediately explained the menu to me, and told me that there were three sets (including meat sushi and ramen).
I had intended to just eat ramen, but the menu didn't list the price of the ramen alone, so I regretted not looking at Tengai's menu.
After the menu explanation, I asked the waiter how much the ramen was, and he told me that it was 1,100 yen, and that it was available in salt and soy sauce flavors. It was quite expensive, but I chose the salt ramen that was included in the set.
By the way, the set of meat sushi and ramen costs 1,800 yen.
When the ramen arrived, I tried it, but it didn't taste like the Kobe beef broth I had eaten before. It had absolutely no flavor. The meat on top was probably canned, which made me very sad. I wonder if I had tried the soy sauce version before...
I had skipped rice that morning and the price was high, so I ate it all, but although I usually order extra noodles and drink all the soup, I left immediately. Extra noodles were 150 yen, by the way.
The reviews are good, but I wonder if it's aimed at foreigners...
