"I decided I wanted to try Kobe beef, so I visited this small, quaint shop. I had a fantastic waiter named Gami, who was able to communicate with me in English, which was amazing. The beef was very good, but I made a mistake when ordering. I thought I picked the best cut at the largest size and misread the pricing by a zero. I initially thought it was $100 CAD, but it was actually $1,000 CAD (¥100,000). Gami even asked if I was okay with the price, and thinking it was $100, I said yes.
The chef came to my table when my plate arrived—great service—and told me it was the best cut. I can attest that it was delicious; the meat literally melted in my mouth and the flavor was perfect. However, I didn’t have any sides because they were all add-ons. Now knowing what I actually paid, I am extremely disappointed that a full course meal wasn't included at that price point. For $1,000, sides should definitely be included. I shouldn't still be hungry when leaving the table.
I feel conflicted because the staff was great and the food was flavorful, but I honestly walked out feeling like I could have eaten four times that amount. This is an honest review—you be the judge, but give this place a try."
