I found a highly-rated teppanyaki restaurant serving certified Kobe beef via Google Maps, but the experience was a total disaster.
We ordered a premium, rare cut of meat, yet the texture was incredibly tough and completely unchewable. Even after the chef tried recooking it, the texture remained poor.
At other restaurants, the same rare cut of Kobe beef melts in the mouth and is rich in marbling—the contrast was stark. When the restaurant later grilled two additional pieces for us, the difference in quality compared to the original serving was obvious.
For a premium-priced rare cut, we weren't shown the raw meat beforehand, and the quality of what was served was inconsistent; I strongly suspect a bait-and-switch.
Additionally, the beef they use for sushi is also unchewable.
I came here specifically for the "Kichijokichi" certified Kobe beef but left deeply disappointed. I’ve decided to blacklist this place and want to warn others to choose carefully.
