Overall a good experience. We tried to get into Tenryu and they turned us down either because they were full, we we're dressed inappropriately, or perhaps they turned us down because our Japanese is poor. Anyway the maitre d then asked us if we came for beef and told us another restaurant around the corner had the same beef and same owner. That restaurant was Yazawa. At Yazawa it was casual and the staff spoke English. We managed to blow $700 on chateubriand and filet. The price was high and perhaps not a great value but I suppose that is subjective considering I have no means of finding a better value.
Good stuff. Next time I splurge it will be somewhere else though. Gotta try all the restaurants!
