My family and I have tried multiple Kobe beef restaurants (including Mouriya), and we still think Tanryu is the best. As this restaurant is run only by Chef Sho, he adds his personal style to the cooking, making the meal feel personal and not at all cookie-cutter. Chef Sho is extremely attentive, precise, talented and has good attention to detail. The beef is perfectly cut (ensuring that the individual pieces are evenly cooked), perfectly plated with a wide variety of fresh garnishes including fresh wasabi. My visit this time was part of a short 2-day trip to Osaka - I missed Tanryu’s beef so much that I decided to drive 45 mins each way from Osaka just to have dinner here!
