We took a detour in our trip to go specifically to Kobe to enjoy some high-grade Kobe beef. We stumbled upon this restaurant given the high reviews, and were mostly satisfied. The beef was cooked well and our chef was very friendly and gave us recommendations on how to enjoy the beef. We ordered three different cuts of beef and noticed the differences. The waitress was very slow moving even though we were the only ones left to serve. I had to ask for rice as part of our dinner set (additional cost). Some other reviews noted, the sides were not particularly impressive, except for maybe the salad. The interior of the restaurant was a bit depressing, but it was definitely filled with lots of Momentos and notes from celebrities and also many certificates for their beef. Our chef was very meticulous and detail oriented, she was clearly trained to pay attention to detail, but we can tell that she was still in training, which was OK. The main take away from the meal was that we had better beef in Tokyo, so had we known that the beef would not be much more impressive in Kobe, we might’ve lowered our expectations. We were glad that we didn’t spend too long in Kobe just for the beef.
