Our group tried KISSHOKICHI during our Japan trip and found it somewhat underwhelming compared to the hype. While the premium Kobe beef was decent, it wasn't exceptional enough to justify the steep prices. The Kobe beef sirloin and tender red meat were prepared adequately, but lacked the wow factor we expected from such a renowned establishment. The garlic rice was probably the highlight, but again, overpriced for what it was.
The teppanyaki chef was skilled, but we've experienced much better value for money at other teppanyaki restaurants during our trip. The Google reviews seem inflated compared to our actual experience. If you're looking to try authentic Kobe beef, there are other establishments that offer better quality-to-price ratio. For the amount we paid, we expected a truly memorable dining experience, but left feeling it was just average.
