I had high expectations based on the reviews, but unfortunately the experience did not live up to them.
We ordered three different cuts: Sirloin, Fillet, and Tender Red Meat, along with two A Sets. The total came to ¥30,000 per person
A few observations from our visit:
* We were not asked about our preferred steak doneness. The chef decided it without consulting us.
* Fillet was the best of the three cuts, but it was still only good, not exceptional.
* The Sirloin had noticeably more connective tissue than expected, making it chewier than I anticipated for premium Kobe beef.
* The Tender Red Meat was decent, but none of the three cuts delivered the rich, melt-in-your-mouth texture that Kobe beef is famous for.
The service was polite and the restaurant was clean, so I have no complaints there. However, for the price, I expected a much more memorable dining experience.
This may have been an off day, but based on this visit, I personally wouldn’t choose to return and would rather try another Kobe beef restaurant next time I’m in Kobe.
