This place is actually a scam targeting unsuspecting tourists walking past! They sold me 80g of what they said was A5 Kobe beef for 2800 yen. The beef was very tough, full of cartilage and the total opposite of what actual A5 Kobe beef is meant to taste like. They get away with this because for many tourists they may not know what real Kobe beef tastes like.
When I called them out on the poor quality beef and questioned whether it was truly A5 Kobe, they then admitted the toughness and explained that the toughness was because the meat was from the hind leg of the cow!!!
Selling low quality hind leg cuts of meat for 2800yen per 80g can only be classified as a tourist scam!
