I needed to break a bill so I thought might as well try some fake kobe. It was 1800yen for the smallest amount of steak. Cooked extra well done. Not tender. I saw them pull the meat out of a freezer and it looked nothing like Kobe.
For reference, went to Kobe a few days later for the real thing (with the real price tag).
This is a tourist trap. Avoid at all cost. Just go get some yakitori if you need a meat fix.
