Having never tried Kobe beef we thought we would treat ourselves to dinner here on out one night in Osaka The staff were friendly and very attentive. The higher end steaks are really ridiculously expensive so got one of the more affordable cuts. Still very expensive at around $10000 for a 120gm piece. Maybe the more expensive ones are significantly better, but honestly I've had better steak back home in Australia that cost a third the price. I guess we are spoilt with excellent restaurants and beef products. There was no wow factor, or that significant difference that I was hoping to taste and sense over a nice cut of meat back home. A party of six were seated near us and got up after they read the menu and realised what they would be paying. Lol The experience itself was good, and I'm glad we did it, but not even close to being worth the cost. Ended up around $450aud for a party of 3. Twice as expensive as our next costly meal in Japan and half as good IMO.
