We were in a touristy area, so we weren't expecting a 100% authentic Japanese experience but we did expect at least some. What we got could have been anywhere in the world; it just didn't feel like Japan. The place felt more like a tourist trap than a traditional teppanyaki restaurant. The atmosphere, service style, and presentation all felt geared toward tourists rather than reflecting genuine Japanese culinary tradition. From the start, the cook rushed us, pointing at the menu to show what other tourists were ordering without giving us even a minute to decide for ourselves. The sirloin itself was decent, but they cooked it in seed oil instead of searing it in its own beef fat, which is a weird call for a place built around Kobe beef. The whole point of the marbling is that fat. On top of that, the cook talked non-stop the entire meal. We couldn't relax, we couldn't enjoy the food properly, and we couldn't even have a conversation at our own table. At the end they basically pressured us to write a Google review, which probably explains the 4.8 rating. Hard to believe those reviews are genuine when they're pushing them on every diner before the bill even arrives. Way overpriced for what you actually get. If you're in Osaka and want a real Kobe beef experience, skip this one. There are better, more authentic teppanyaki spots in the city that cost a fraction of the price.
