Unfortunately I had a really bad experience with this restaurant. Due to one untruthful waitress trying to take advantage of tourists.
Full story:
I arrived with young kids(6 and 9) and was approached by a their staff with menu in hand. She offered me a couple of items but they had raw meat. Not ideal for kids.
She then offered me a set plate which had 3 steaks on it. Her exact words were "i highly recommend this for a family"
I said I want some rice too on the side.
They had that. She closed the menu and showed me to my seats.
Kamada was a beautiful chef. He prepared our meal and cooked it to perfection.
They forgot my rice but served it at the end. Not an issue
I went to pay at the end and when the bill was getting tallied up the same waitress apologised about the rice while I tapping my card with out looking at the price and I was on my way.(i was distracted by this conversation)
Later I check my card balanced. I had been charged 158,000 yen ($1,350AUD or $990 usd)
I went back to the resturant thinking they had made a mistake but they showed me I had been given the most expensive item on the menu. That was what the waitress recommended. Ridiculous.
Why would an employee be recommending me the most expensive item to a young family.
They acknowledged it was their mistake and that the waitress should not have done that. Other waitresses there said and I quote "I would never do that to someone with kids"
Yet here we are.
I was offered a 10% discount for my troubles but that was it.
How can a business not take responsibility for the mistake of their own employees after the acknowledge fault.
So disappointing.
