Dining at Daichi was one of the highlights of my trip to Kobe. The experience was elevated by the incredible live cooking performance by Chef Maru, who turned lunch into a personal, memorable event. The restaurant has a warm and elegant atmosphere, and we were seated at the teppanyaki counter where Chef Maru prepared our meal right in front of us. He introduced each cut of Kobe beef, and cooked with absolute precision and calm confidence. Watching him grill the beef was mesmerizing — a true master at work. The beef itself was extraordinary: buttery, tender, full of umami, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite melted in the mouth. The full course included beautiful appetizers, grilled vegetables — all plated with care and balance. If you're visiting Kobe and want a true Kobe beef experience, Daichi is a must. Book a seat at the counter and, if you're lucky enough to have Chef Maru, prepare for a truly special meal.
