Best beef I've ever had (and was raised on Alberta beef in Canada). You're going to pay a lot for Kobe beef no matter what so do yourself a favor; avoid the long lines of tourists outside the moderately priced (and infamous) Steakland, spend a little more, and really see what kind of cuisine Kobe has to offer.

You have to try kobe beef when you come to Japan so you definitely need to try this place out. They have a lunch menu which is the same as dinner in a smaller portion and much cheaper so you can try all the food on the menu. Service was amazing and they even had an English speaking waitress if you're afraid of not knowing what you order.

One of the Kobe beef joints off the main street. Kinda got baited in by their sign that said 1700Y for a Kobe beef lunch. It ended up being around Y5500 per person. They do however have chicken and pork options if for whatever reason you've traveled to Kobe with someone that does not eat beef. The beef however was pretty decent, tender and savory. Their Y5500 lunch set comes with 180g of standard grade Kobe beef, salad, soup and rice.
