Master chef Keiji is a character. He may come across entertaining but he's really serious about his cooking. I like to observe chefs when they cook and you will notice when Keiji's sous chef helped him with grilling the beef, he kept checking the sous chef grilling.
I noticed Keiji's got the timing perfectly, he also charred the steak even the edge and all perfectly grilled and I noticed he has that same expectations from his sous chef.
Personally, I liked it charred all around the way he did and the vegetables too. One of his assistant who only help grilled the vegetables did a wonderful job. He crisp up the surfaces of the vegetables perfectly.
One may think it's all about the beef, the chef just grilling the beef, we all do that in America but we also know, the heat conduction level of the grill, the consistent of the heat and the skills that consistently grill the beef perfectly is an art and skill. Keiji got it down.
The meat was very flavorful and tender. It's important that they got high quality beef but the skills and timing is what prefected a grilled Kobe beef meal.
The Kobe beef was of excellent quality, but the sauce was also very good. I especially liked the miso sauce.
I also highly recommend to upgrade to the Kobe beef garlic fried rice. You won't regret. The also serve the rice crispy (bottom part). So flavorful and delicious.
All in all, delectable and enjoyable meal.
