Amazing experience ! We went there on a Monday night and were by ourselves in the restaurant so it’s a bit intimidating at first but I’m glad we decided to go at Genkichi because we had a blast! The meat is amazingly tasty and juicy and soft and the sides are organic, well prepared and very fresh. We took the 80g rare part of the day from the Prime Kobe beef with the set menu 1. We first had a Kobe beef sashimi as a starter then a first round of Kobe beef as the chef was cooking in front of us and suggesting combinations of miso paste, grilled garlic and soy sauce to go with the meat. After that, we had the second part of the meat and the vegetables before having the desert. Amazing ! We paid 24 000 yens for two people with 3 beers. Definitively Worth it. The 80g was enough with all the sides and I didn’t feel hungry after at all! Must try !

This place was excellent from start to finish. An absolutely perfect experience. The meat melted in my mouth and the chef Tosio was delightful to watch. He carefully and patiently taught us how to best eat the meat which I really enjoyed. 5/5 would eat again!

It had the best beef i've ever had and far superior to any of the surrounding cheaper restaurants. The waiter was friendly and gave great advice on what cuts of steak we should try and really great information on what to expect. The chef was warm, friendly and spoke good english. He explained how it was best eaten and how to enjoy the Kobe beef with each condiment. We even got photos with the chef and waiter outside! I can't highly recommend the place enough and it was the highlight of our trip to Kobe.
