We ordered the Kobe beef set meal with a drink, costing over 50,000 yen per person. However, just 8months ago, we had a similar Wagyu set at another restaurant nearby (rated 4.8 stars) for only 20,000 yen per person. The pricing here is extremely high.
The beef soup in the set was very oily, and none of the three of us liked it—we left it untouched. The vegetables were prepared by an inexperienced chef, resulting in overcooked, overly salty dishes. After we complained, the head chef kindly made a new portion for us. The service was excellent, but at a restaurant with such high pricing, customers shouldn’t be used as training subjects for new chefs. We have nothing against the new chef—everyone has to learn—but this arrangement is unreasonable.
Overall, it was an overpriced and underwhelming meal. My sister was experiencing Kobe beef for the first time in Japan, and she left disappointed.
