I dined here in the last week. I strongly disliked many aspects of my dining experience here, it was my worst dining experience in many years. I won't go into all of them, but the main ones were: 1. The meat itself was terrible. I opted for the cheapest cut on the menu, and my partner got the next grade up ("tender" cut) - mind you these are still very expensive by Japanese restaurant standards (spend many hundreds of dollars for two people), and the way that this restaurant presents its menu, all its cuts should be Kobe beef cuts. However these cuts were really bad quality - very chewy, not tasty at all - you can get much better beef at much lower prices outside of Kobe (eg Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, and elsewhere - I have dined extensively across Japan). They proudly show their certificates for Kobe beef on the walls, but I suspect they don't actually serve Kobe beef for their cheaper menu options, they probably sneakily use other types of beef here. I know many other people were wowed eating similar cuts here - this place relies on tourists who have no idea of what good beef is meant to taste like. Beware that they are part of a chain - many of the highly rated Kobe beef restaurants on Google are from the same chain. 2. They stated very clearly on their printed menu and verbally that the salad+rice+soup comes for free during lunch, with your steak. However they charged us for this, and I had to argue with them to get this removed from the bill. I didn't actually want to write this review as it would bring up this terrible memory for me again and thus annoy me, but I thought it would be too much of a disservice to my fellow human beings and diners to not expose the flaws of this restaurant.
