Don't rely too heavily on the online reviews. At the end of the meal, guests are encouraged to leave a review while they are still sitting in the restaurant. Many tourists may feel uncomfortable leaving negative feedback in front of the staff, especially after receiving friendly service.
That may help explain why the ratings are so high compared to the actual dining experience. In my case, the meal was average and nowhere near worth the premium price charged. The restaurant felt more focused on catering to tourists than delivering an exceptional Kobe beef experience.
I left feeling that I paid far more for the name and location than for the quality of the food. There are better places in Japan to spend your money if you're looking for a truly memorable beef experience.
