The food, the explanations, and the conversations were all very enjoyable. The sirloin was the most delicious I've ever had in my life. It had a rich, sweet, and juicy flavor from the fat, yet it wasn't greasy, and the fat didn't leave any unpleasant aftertaste. It was amazing meat.
Since we were going to Kobe, we decided we wanted to eat Kobe beef, so without much planning, we booked two seats on the Shinkansen on the way there.
After booking, we looked more closely and noticed that the reserved seats (counter seats) only allowed us to order teppanyaki. We braced ourselves for the price, thinking it would be quite expensive, as we arrived at the restaurant.
As expected, the prices were higher than we anticipated, but the staff suggested we order both the expensive and cheaper items to share between the two of us. So, we ordered the sirloin (expensive) and the lean cut (cheaper).
We were worried that the sirloin would be too fatty, but just as the staff had assured us, it was fatty but didn't leave a heavy aftertaste; it was refreshing and very delicious. The lean meat was meaty yet tender, and also delicious.
I usually prefer beer, but the staff recommended sake as a good pairing with the meat, and it was so delicious that I ended up drinking two cups of sake at lunchtime.
I was very satisfied with the wonderful meal and experience.
The total bill for two people, including drinks, was around 25,000 yen.
